University Professional Staff and University Support Staff Retirement Luncheon

We would also like to take a moment to honor one staff member who after many years of service to the school has decided to retire this year. Alberta Wright retired after 47 years with KU and 16 years with the School of Social Welfare’s Field Education Office. Thanks to Alberta for the many years of service to KU and your support of our students and your always welcoming smile. You assisted over 4,000 social work students and nearly as many community partners. Your long-term commitment and service to the school is remarkable. We will miss you greatly but are extremely happy for you as you start your new journey in retirement.

Each spring, the University hosts a luncheon to honor University Professional Staff and University Support Staff who have retired since August 1 of the previous year or will retire by July 31 of the current year.

Because of the pandemic, we have not been able to host these luncheons so, in the meantime, we are celebrating our retirees on the KU Human Resources retiree webpage. Retirees for both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years, as well as a message to the retirees from Chancellor Girod can be found on the KU Human Resources retiree webpage.
