Toni Johnson Center announces 12 scholars selected to program
The Toni Johnson Center for Racial and Social Justice is pleased to have selected 12 School of Social Welfare students as a part of the Toni Johnson Scholars Program.
The Toni Johnson Scholars Program supports BSW, MSW, and PhD students in the School of Social Welfare who have historically and contemporarily experienced marginalization and oppression. Selected students receive financial support, mentoring, leadership, and professional development opportunities dedicated to enhancing community, retention and success of program scholars.
The Toni Johnson Center for Racial and Social Justice aims to promote an educational environment engaged in racial and social justice. As a central component of the School of Social Welfare’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts, the Center aims to advance the well-being, success, and equity for students of color and marginalized identities, serves as a catalyst for critical dialogue on race and social justice within the School and KU community, and expands service, teaching, and research on race and intersectional social justice in our School and community.
