Latrese Kabuya

Latrese Kabuya is a mental health expert, social worker, speaker, author, and media contributor committed to advancing mental wellness through education, advocacy, and community engagement. She serves at Amethyst Place, contributes weekly to a CBS affiliate, and is a Park Hill School District Council Member.

Latrese is the author of The Power Within Her Voice and founder of Safe Space. She has organized and hosted numerous community events focused on mental health, self-esteem, empowerment, and personal wellness, creating opportunities for individuals and families to learn, connect, and grow.

Latrese has been recognized with the DEIB Champion Award for her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and received the Margo Award in recognition of her contributions during her practicum at the University of Kansas.

She holds a bachelor's degree in organizational Lleadership from MidAmerica Nazarene University, an MSW from the University of Kansas, and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Social Work (DSW).
