Michelle Ridley

Research interests include post-partum depression within adolescent parents as this relates to mental health. What excited me most about starting the PhD program at KU's school of social welfare is continuing to learn and better myself within the field of social work so that I can eventually contribute to the field through teaching, research and assist in writing journals, articles, and books. Through my experiences and the new knowledge, I will gain during my time as a doctoral student, I hope to one day be able to teach at the university level and create an organization that provides support and services to women suffering from issues related to sexual trauma.
