Biography —
Carole Cadue-Blackwood (enrolled member of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas, affiliated with the Prairie Band Potawatomi) is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor II (MAADC II). She has a bachelor's degree in political science and a Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas, and an associate's degree from Haskell Indian Nations University.
Cadue-Blackwood currently works as a case manager and social worker at The Kansas City Indian Center. She also serves as the liaison to the United States Attorney General’s Office for the Western District of Missouri Department of Justice Community Coordination Unit. She assists individuals and their families with a plan for recovery from substance abuse and assists in their adjustment to living free of chemical dependency within a culturally-based treatment program. She is also responsible for facilitating the Wellbriety Medicine Wheel & 12-Step approach for Indigenous people, which offers a culturally grounded 12-step approach that strives to help people heal from addictions by tapping into cultural and spiritual practices that may have been lost to many Native people along the way.
Cadue-Blackwood previously served as the community and outreach coordinator for the Sexual Trauma and Abuse Care Center and has volunteered extensively for the Willow Domestic Violence Center as a court advocate.

Practice and Research Focus Areas
Cadue-Blackwood's area of focus is to pass legislation requiring K-12 schools in Kansas to teach Native American history, sovereignty rights and treaties.
