"My memories of Twente Hall are animated by the relationships I was so fortunate to have with those who studied, taught, researched, and worked within its halls.

When I first saw Twente Hall in 1976, I was impressed by the image of St. George slaying the dragon, not a bad metaphor for social work as well as medicine. One of my favorite memories was a conversation with Goody Garfield when he pointed out the pinnacle of the building was modeled after the Empire State Building. He loved that New York City connection.

I won't forget how terribly drafty the windows were in the 1990s before being replaced. You had to keep gloves on if your desk was window-facing.

Best wishes for many new memories for students, staff, and faculty."
