KU Social Welfare faculty, researchers to present at SSWR 2026 conference

LAWRENCE – Faculty, researchers and students from the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare will have their work represented at the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) annual conference. The conference is Jan. 14-18 in Washington, D.C.

KU School of Social Welfare attendees will share their research in over 30 presentations, symposia, roundtable discussions and poster presentations. Their work covers a broad range of research areas, with topics including child welfare, end-of-life caregiving, substance use disorders, climate justice, domestic violence, economic resilience, and more.

Researchers from the School of Social Welfare’s Center for Research to Transform Systems for Family, Community & Social Justice (CRTS) will present 12 sessions, highlighting the center’s community-engaged work to support children, families and their communities.

The theme of the 2026 SSWR conference is “Leading for Transformative Change.” The scientific program includes more than 1,500 presentations, workshops, talks and special sessions.
