Biography —
Dr. Roslyn Christopher is a student-centered professor and joins the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare as an associate professor of practice this fall.
Dr. Christopher brings lecture experience on various topics of social work and social work practice, including work as an adjunct lecturer and practicum instructor at KU since 2011. She received her Ed.D. in educational leadership at Baker University and her Master of Social Work from the KU School of Social Welfare.
Dr. Christopher’s background includes teaching in the BSW and MSW programs at several KU campuses, including Lawrence, KCKCC, Edwards Campus, and the Pittsburg State University partnership site.
Along with teaching, Dr. Christopher has worked in community mental health settings and has been a school social worker and 504 coordinator for 24 years. She has provided therapeutic intervention services, psychosocial assessments for children and adolescents, and trauma-informed training for school administrators and teachers in K-12 charter and public-school settings.
“I am excited to join the KU School of Social Welfare,” Christopher said. “I am honored to join a team of professionals that cultivates a culture that acknowledges different backgrounds and new learning experiences in our field on a micro, mezzo, and macro level. I am excited to continue to grow and learn professionally from colleagues and students.”
