KU Social Welfare community mourns passing of Professor Emeritus James Taylor


The University of Kansas School of Social Welfare community mourns the passing of Professor Emeritus James Taylor, who died Jan. 3.

Dr. Taylor retired from the KU School of Social Welfare with emeritus status in 2002, after 26 years of service to the university. Dr. Taylor started at KU as a tenured professor in 1976. He held a PhD from the University of Washington.

Memorial service

Taylor’s family shared information for a memorial service, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 23. The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. CST.
