The story behind Project Send Love
Project Send Love was started by a group of social scientists who were thinking about the social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on older adults in senior living facilities. This group hoped to connect community members to older adults in the Kansas City area through letter writing in order to address social isolation and feelings of loneliness.
Where Project Send Love is now
Project Send Love has grown to include senior living facilities throughout the United States! The project is now housed in the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare and maintains the same goal of connecting community members throughout the country to older adults in senior living facilities through letter writing.
