- Research Project Coordinator for Family Strong
Kaleena Erwin, LMSW, is a Research Project Coordinator for Family Strong, a federally funded grant which aims to implement primary prevention through community support to assist families with stressors before they develop into crises resulting in interaction with the child welfare system. Kaleena holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Welfare from the University of Kansas. Prior to accepting a position at KU, Kaleena served nearly a decade at the Kansas Department for Children and Families in several roles, including child protection services, performance improvement, case reading, training, and curriculum alignment. Kaleena has special interests in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, reducing sleep related infant mortality, maternal mental health, and child development.
