In support of our friends and colleagues at Haskell Indian Nations University – The KU School of Social Welfare condemns the rise of domestic terrorism and hate crimes in our local and national communities. We embrace the protection of physical memorials, especially the Haskell Memorial Arch and the tipi honoring 2020 graduates. As social workers and students, we urge all community members to take a more active role in dismantling oppressive systems that desecrate people and cultures. We express our support for communities facing oppression, trauma, and violence. We also continue to celebrate the achievements of Haskell graduates as they take the next steps toward making the world a better place.
