Congratulations to Dr. Andy Zinn on his invite to the inaugural class of Fellows of the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR). Fellows of the Society for Social Work and Research are members who have served with distinction to advance the mission of the Society -- to advance, disseminate, and translate research that addresses issues of social work practice and policy and promotes a diverse, equitable and just society. The SSWR Fellowship has been established by the Society to honor and to recognize current SSWR members for their individual accomplishments, leadership and contribution to SSWR as a scientific society. It is anticipated that SSWR Fellows will serve as role models and mentors for individuals pursuing careers in social work research and will continue to actively advance the mission of the Society.
Dr. Zinn earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin and has been an assistant professor with the KU School of Social Welfare since 2012. Prior to coming to KU, he served as a senior researcher at the University of Chicago Chapin Hall. His research interests include child maltreatment, child welfare services, and the service needs and outcomes of disadvantaged children and families.
This honor will be announced at the SSWR 2014 Annual Conference to be held Friday, January 17, 2014, 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Marriott Riverwalk, Alamo Ballroom C & D, 2nd Floor Elevator Level BR.
