February Custodian of the Month - Derrik Munoz

Derrik Munoz was chosen to be the February 2021 Custodian of the Month. Each month every custodial supervisor on the academic side puts in a candidate by writing about them and then each supervisor picks who they think deserves it. It is completely anonymous to everyone except the person counting votes. For being selected, Derrik received a $100 gift card pooled from all the custodial supervisors and an announcement on the Custodial Services website.

“Derrik has been the custodian for Twente Hall for the last few years, and from the start, we were impressed and grateful for his dedication and care for our building, our employees and our students. During the pandemic, he has remained steadfast in his role and duty to care for our building and make sure everything is safe, clean and secure, even when the majority of KU has been working remotely. Derrik brings a warmth to Twente Hall and is extremely deserving of this honor. Thank you for all that you do for the School of Social Welfare and KU.  Congratulations Derrik!” Michelle Mohr Carney, dean KU School of Social Welfare.
