Biography

Professor Jody Brook (PhD, MSW/LCSW) joined the faculty of the KU School of Social Welfare in 2011 and currently serves as the Associate Dean for Research.  Dr. Brook received her PhD from the University of Kansas in 2005 (with honors) and served as a Research Associate and Principal Investigator at the KU School of Social Welfare from 2005-2011.  From 2003-2005, she served as a national Research Fellow for the United States Department of Health and Human Services (Children’s Bureau).  She currently teaches in the research sequence of the DSW program. Dr. Brook has served as Principal or Co-Principal Investigator for 17 externally funded research projects, most of which center on designing, implementing and evaluating the processes and outcomes associated with service delivery programming in public child welfare, substance abuse, behavioral health, and specialty problem-solving courts. Her scholarly work has been disseminated through 44 contributions to the peer-reviewed literature, 23 research reports, 3 book chapters, and 60 presentations at the national level.  Professor Brook received her MSW at Tulane University, and has held a clinical license in Social Work since 1991.
