School of Social Welfare faculty and staff receive Leading Light Awards

Tuesday, December 2, 2014

The KU Office of the Provost and the Office of Research recently announced KU’s newest Leading Light Award recipients — a group of 43 faculty and staff members who received external funding of $1 million or more during the 2013 and 2014 academic years. Seven members of the School of Social Welfare were included in this most recent cohort:

Becci Akin
Kaela Byers
Rick Goscha
Cheryl Holmes
Steve Kapp
Amy Mendenhall
Terry Moore

I just attended a luncheon with four of our recipients (Becci, Terry, Kaela and Rick) in which the recipients were honored. Each got to speak briefly about their work. We all should be very proud of our representation in this important group and of our individual members. Our lights were shining brightly.

Congratulations to them all and thank you for your hard work.
