Registration Now Open for Anti-bullying Summit, September 18-19, in Lawrence, KS

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

The Kansans Against Bullying Project, sponsored by the Kansas State Department of Education, is hosting an Anti-bullying Summit September 18 and 19 at the University of Kansas.

The summit organizers are Anne Williford, Ph.D., assistant professor of social welfare at the University of Kansas and Paula Fite, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology at the University of Kansas. Dr. Williford is also a member of KU's Center for Children & Families, a division of the School of Social Welfare.

The organizers and leading bullying scholars will address and seek to stimulate discussion about the two key issues facing the field of bullying prevention and intervention—interventions with modest to no effect and a lack of clearly articulated, comprehensive, and coherent bullying prevention approaches. In addition, the summit will include an exciting dialogue about intervention with children and adolescents, with special attention given to school and community settings. Registration for the event is now open.

For additional information about the featured speakers, schedule and registration, please visit the Anti-bullying Summit website.
